Course: Yoga for beginners
This course is designed for individuals who are either new to yoga or have some prior experience and are seeking an introduction to the fundamentals, including proper alignment for each pose.
Over the duration of the course, we will explore the essential postures of vinyasa yoga. This includes standing positions, balancing poses, backbends, twists, seated poses, and reclining poses. We will also focus on transitioning smoothly between these postures, deconstructing and reviewing sun salutations and refining correct technique in chaturanga. You will learn how to use props such as blocks, bolsters, and blankets to modify yoga poses to suit your body's needs. Additionally, you will receive comprehensive guidance on different breathing techniques and how to connect breath to movement in your yoga practice. The course will also offer a brief introduction to fundamental concepts of yoga philosophy.
Open to all levels, this course is suitable for everyone and will give you a solid foundation to participate in vinyasa yoga classes.
Course commences on Thursday, September 28th from 6.15 PM to 7.15 PM

Silje has been teaching yoga since 2017. She is specialised in vinyasa, yin, prenatal, and postnatal yoga. She's also a social anthropologist and a certified Ayurvedic postpartum doula. In her classes, Silje focuses on making a safe and supportive environment and she communicates how yoga can be helpful both on and off the yoga mat.
